J.D. Hernandez is originally from Los Angeles, California and earned his finance degree from California State University, Northridge. Afterwards, he headed out to brave the cold for law school in the Midwest. He earned his law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law and loved his internship in Miami as a first-year law student so much that he knew he would ultimately return to practice in Miami.

Immediately after law school, J.D. worked as an attorney for the Iowa Department of Revenue. He subsequently joined Deloitte, splitting his time between two branches in the Silicon Valley and San Francisco, dealing with state and local tax matters for international conglomerates, car manufacturers, and e-commerce giants.

Prior to joining Your Insurance Attorney PLLC, he served as an assistant professor with St. Thomas University Benjamin Crump School of Law as part of their Academic Success team where he taught students how to strategize for success in law school, the fundamentals of essay writing for the bar exam (Florida and other jurisdictions), and the multiple-choice portion of the bar exam.  

J.D. is bilingual, licensed in Florida and in Iowa, and hopes to make a difference in and out of the courtroom for his clients. During his spare time, J.D. loves to cook, watch films, and travel.
