Joshua Machlus was born in Rochester, Minnesota and raised in Palm Coast, Florida. Mr. Machlus moved to Central Florida in 2004.
Mr. Machlus received his bachelor of science degrees in mathematics and statistics from the University of Florida in 1999. In 2001, Mr. Machlus received his masters of arts in criminology and criminal justice from the University of Maryland. Afterwards, in 2004, Mr. Machlus received his juris doctorate from The Florida State University College of Law, cum laude. While in law school, he was a member of the Journal of Transactional Law & Policy and the Mock Trial Team.
Mr. Machlus authored “Protecting Your Verdict From Juror Misconduct,” which was published in the Florida Justice Association Journal, May-June 2011.
Mr. Machlus is admitted to practice law in the State of Florida. He is also licensed to practice law in the federal courts in the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Mr. Machlus is a member of the Florida Bar, the Orange County Bar Association, the Florida Justice Association (FJA), and the Central Florida Trial Lawyers Association (CFTLA).
Since 2020, Mr. Machlus has been selected to Super Lawyers. This honors the top 5% of lawyers in the State of Florida. Previously, Mr. Machlus was selected from 2010 to 2014 to Super Lawyers, Rising Stars, which honors the top 2.5% of attorneys in the State of Florida.
