Tasha M. Somarriba is an Attorney at the firm’s Coconut Grove office. She concentrates her
practice in the area of nursing home negligence. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Somarriba was a
partner at one of the state’s leading defense firms for a decade and has extensive experience in
state and federal civil litigation matters, including first party property litigation, labor and
employment law, and condominium and homeowners’ association litigation.
Ms. Somarriba graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Criminal Justice. She attended Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center, where she received her Juris Doctorate, magna cum laude. While in law school, she served as a Senior Associate of Nova Law Review for three years. Additionally, she was on the Dean’s List and received the Book Award for obtaining the highest grade in Civil
Procedure.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Somarriba served as a crime scene investigator for a local police department. Additionally, Ms. Somarriba worked as a paralegal and staff assistant at the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office working very closely with the Public Defender during her
tenure.
